Message This is my first time ever posting anything but I had to share my (still ongoing) Z1motorsports experience with you guys. I have always been a fan of Z1 for specializing in the vehicle I have loved, the 90-96 300zx twin turbo. In January 2010 I basically sold my 91 300zx tt for another with 60k original miles. The vehicle had about 10k in modifications done by the previous owner but after driving the car for about one month smoke started coming from the exhaust. Just with my luck I was deployed to India for 18 months so I had my vehicle parked until I was able to get it fixed properly. In June 2011 I had my vehicle shipped to z1 for service. I sent an email stating the issue along with all the mod receipts the previous owner had given me. The vehicle was diagnosed and the results was that two of the engine cylinders were bad which meant that either I had to spend tons of dollars in labor to get it fixed or buy a used engine to replace the damaged one. Of course I choose the cheaper of the two which was to get a used engine. With the engine being replaced I decided that I might as well have them install some other mods while they had my car and the engine was out which totaled to $22k.

It took about four months for the vehicle to be near completion. I was in constant communication with z1 throughout the entire process and the money was paid in full without any problems. I was told that the vehicle would be completed before my due date to return back to the states. I had my vehicle arranged to be picked up on 25th of October. I then contacted z1 and I was notified that they needed another day to complete everything so I rescheduled so that the vehicle wouldn't be picked up until the following day. Everything went according to plan the vehicle was delivered and I arrived two days later. At first I was happy (money well spent) but after about 12 days I noticed oil leaking from the engine and a day later smoke began to come from the exhaust (vehicle was never raced, nothing tweaked). I contacted z1 service department and at first I was told that it could be bad tu rbos (which was purchase & installed by z1). I was also told that a full tune was not conducted on the car because the transportation truck had arrived. On December 2nd I had the vehicle sent back so that the problem can be diagnosed and fixed. About a week later I was told that the engine had two bad cylinders, which was basically the same problem that the vehicle initially had. Which makes me wonder did they ever fix the problem in the first place or did they just fix the damaged parts?).

Finally, last week (two months later) I got a response with was two options, one was to replace the engine again (over $9k) and the other was to fix the damage cylinders (over $3k). It makes me sick to my stomach that z1 will not take any responsibility in their work. So here I am two months later, I have been calling and messaging and nothing has been done.I even asked to speak to the owner Russell and I was told that he is in marketing and would not know about this.

My Z that I have spent over $22k with z1 on is sitting in their lot and no one has even called me to give me some kind of resolution for this situation.

Z1 is good for people who want small installs and maybe to order products but if you need major work done then please take your vehicle elsewhere and save yourself the headache that I am having to deal with.
